Sometimes, you wind up getting a new computer, new screen reader upgrade or a shiny new iPhone and you just want to connect with other users to get quick help or to get a question answered.
In April of 2013 I started a users’ group for residents in or near the Philadelphia area to help solve this problem. The group does have a few members from other states and people outside of the Philly area are more than welcome to join us, although my initial intent was for the group to primarily act as a support for Philadelphia users with visual impairments.
Membership in the group is free. There is no obligation to participate and you can leave the group at any time.
The group has an email-based discussion list, where you can feel free to not only ask questions but you can offer answers as well. To subscribe, send an email to
blind-philly-comp+subscribe@groups.io
and send your message.
We also meet by phone via a conferencing system. We usually meet on the last Friday of every other month at 8:00 PM Eastern time. If you’d like more information about how to participate during these monthly phone meetings, please email me for the details.
